Terms
Effective October 22, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and [Operator legal name] ("Keepsake", "we") about using Keepsake: the website, the apps, and the stories reached by tapping a Keepsake tag. We've kept them short and plain. By creating an account, you agree to them.
Who can use Keepsake
- You need to be at least 13 to have an account. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.
- If you're under 18, a parent or guardian needs to agree to these terms with you.
- Anyone can read a story someone shares with them, by link or by tapping its tag, without an account.
Your stories and what you add
- What you add stays yours. You give us permission to store it, make display copies, and show it to the people the story is shared with, only so that Keepsake works. That permission ends when you delete it, apart from copies in backups, which expire on their own.
- When you add to someone else's story, its owners decide whether it appears and can hide it. You can always edit or delete what you added, even after you leave the story.
- Only add photos, videos and words you have the right to share, and think about the people in them.
- Stories are unlisted unless an owner makes them public: anyone with the link or the tag can read them, but search engines are asked not to index them. Private stories are only for the people invited.
Tags
- A dot only points to a story. Tapping one never gives anyone the right to change it.
- We intend tag links to keep working for as long as Keepsake exists, and we'll give you a way to export your stories if that ever changes. Physical tags can be lost, damaged or wear out; we can point a story to a new one.
- We never show where an object is or who has it now, only the history its story records.
What's not allowed
- Content that is illegal, sexual content involving minors, threats, harassment, or hate directed at people.
- Sharing someone's private information (home address, phone number, documents) without their permission.
- Content you don't have the right to share, including other people's photos.
- Spam, impersonation, malware, or trying to break, overload or get around the security of Keepsake.
Anyone can report an entry from its page. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, and we report child sexual abuse material to the authorities. Copyright notices can be sent to trust@keepsake.app.
Paid plans
Some features need a paid plan. Payments are handled by Stripe. Plans renew until you cancel, which you can do at any time from your account; cancelling stops the next renewal. If you stop paying, your stories stay readable and you keep everything you added.
Ending things
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law or someone's safety prevents it.
The legal part
Keepsake is provided "as is". We work hard to keep your stories safe, but we can't promise the service will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $50 if you haven't paid). Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
These terms are governed by the laws of [governing law]. [Dispute resolution.]
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you before it takes effect and ask you to agree again. The date at the top shows which version this is.
